The Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers are both holding their 2026 training camps in Hawaii this September, and they will open the preseason against each other on the island. The Warriors announced they will run camp at BYU-Hawaii from Sept. 29 through Oct. 3, with media day set for Sept. 28 at Chase Center. It is Golden State’s sixth training camp trip to Oahu.
The Clippers will hold camp the same week, Sept. 29 through Oct. 3, at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, following their own media day on Sept. 28 at Intuit Dome. It is the Clippers’ sixth Hawaii training camp since 2017.
The two teams will play their preseason opener against each other on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 4 p.m. PDT at SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu. It is the first of six preseason games for Golden State. University of Hawaii season-ticket holders get presale access to tickets starting Sept. 2.
For two franchises with a well-worn Hawaii tradition, the shared trip is also a scheduling coincidence with real logistical upside: both teams get to hold camp in the same time zone, against warm-weather conditions, before flying back to the mainland together for the final stretch of preseason. It also means an early measuring-stick look at two Western Conference contenders who have both reshaped their rosters this offseason, well before either team’s rotation is settled for real in October.
The Hawaii trip comes as the offseason enters its final stretch. Training camps league-wide begin Sept. 22 for teams playing preseason games overseas and Sept. 29 for everyone else, including both Golden State and the Clippers, with the regular season tipping off Oct. 20.
